Mary Armstead
Earth & Environmental Science
Identify what controls flash floods in disturbed and forested headwater streams in Kentucky and West Virginia, using sensors, field data and catchment-scale hydrologic models.
Nadja Spitzer
Neuroscience
Determine whether low-level silver nanoparticle exposure changes the location or activation of CRMP-2, a protein that stabilizes microtubules during neurite growth, and of its regulator GSK3β in cultured neural cells.

Engineering
Identify the airflow effects that set feature size and resolution in aerosol jet printing, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of how gas and ink droplets move.
