Roummel Marcia
Mathematics & Statistics
Extend deep unrolling networks for signal recovery and image reconstruction by training them with quasi-Newton optimization methods that exploit previous iterates and gradients.
Roberto Andresen Eguiluz
Biomedical Engineering·Early-career
Build model articular cartilage surfaces with controlled molecular makeup and fibronectin conformations, so that the effect of each surface component on lubrication can be tested on its own.
Sachin Goyal
Engineering·Early-career
Develop an inverse approach within a rod model framework that estimates constitutive laws, the force-deformation rules, for thin biological filaments from all-atom simulation data and physical experiments.
Where its research money goes
A year of research spending, from the NSF survey every research university fills in.
